Earnings season is always difficult and you need rules to trade by otherwise you will gamble your money away. When trading options during earnings season I prefer to be a premium seller. If I believe the stock will move more than 5% (which is rare) I will buy premium. Trade carefully, trade stocks you are familiar with and interested in. Earnings season can be fun if you take the right approach. As with anything, it all comes down to strategy.
